A quick mirror pic in Amsterdam!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just happen to think the beholder has beauty, too.

As long as I can remember, I’ve noticed the way ordinary things combine to form a striking image. Case in point: without prompting, my phone made me a slideshow of all of the sunset pictures I’ve taken called “Golden Hour”.

Everyone has experiences where they know what’s in front of them is visually stunning, but the photo you take doesn’t do it justice (“I promise it looked better in person!”). I hope to deliver images to you that capture exactly the impression it would have in real life, because this is your life, and it’s beautiful!

The photography bug caught me early in life, when I begged for a digital camera to take photos of flowers in the garden and sepia self portraits in the mirror (clearly I haven’t changed much!). I graduated to my first Canon DSLR soon after, and haven’t stopped since. Photography has given me an outlet to express myself in a way that other mediums don’t always allow. I am naturally introverted and found that photography was an amazing way to share what I found beautiful about the world, and the people in it.

Portrait photography really gained steam while I was in music school — everyone needed headshots, recital poster photos, and senior portraits, and I was ecstatic to find something to fill my creative bucket aside from my primary pursuit of music.

Today, I love capturing photos of creatives, couples, and families in the Houston area.

My style is candid, unposed, and emotion-based, primarily using natural light.
